Alces flight looks like a great product. Here’s my situation…
I run training courses for OpenMP, MPI etc and for these courses I need to be able to create a temporary HPC-like cluster. So far so good…Alces Flight looks perfect.
However, I need multi-user support. At the beginning of the course, I want to create a set of users automatically with random passwords ‘training1, training2’ etc. These users can then log-in via standard ssh, run interactive sessions, batch jobs etc without having to realise that it is a cloud cluster.
This would stop me from having to do all of this work manually on our institutions HPC cluster.
I note that multi-user support is coming: https://github.com/alces-software/flight-appliance-templates/issues/1
I wonder, however, if anyone has done something like this already using alces flight?
